Led flesh The uilt whooshed back down over him and off the bed completely I actually really loved that one of the main characters Eric has schizophrenia and he is able to lead a successful and normal life Although at times I wondered if he really had schizophrenia or if he was ust clairvoyant Anyway I Reaper Uninvited Deadside Reapers just appreciate that mental illness was portrayed in a positive light and on our hero When people asked about his schizophrenia Eric who didn t exactly flaunt his illness but wasn t ashamed of it either offered up the comparison of alcoholism Not every drunk is a single bourbon away from skid rowust like every schizophrenic is not a tatty haired crazy eyed gunman who delights in murdering alien PEOPLE FROM CLOCK TOWERS I LOOK from clock towers I look to reading from this author The most positive thing that I can say about this is that I like that one of the main characters Eric is a schizophrenic who with the aid of appropriate medication is able to live very successfully with the condition and most people would be totally unaware I also like the other main character of Susan who is dogged determined and caring Unfortunately the book is so up and down in terms of pace I found it hard not to nod off at times For example the laborious about Eric s geology class or the minutiae of Susan choosing her flavour of coffee Who gives a flying Did it add to the story Noooo There were one or two moments of humour which was light relief from the dark and weird storyline but then frivolous words are used on occasions that are serious and so sets the wrong tone and a arring note Overall it s a spooky story with an abundance of deaths At times it was uite eerie and at others a yawn. He higher ups keep stonewalling her and the FBI’s closing inDesperate for answers Susan goes rogue and turns to Eric for help Together they take an unorthodox approach to the case as the evidence keeps getting stranger With Eric’s hallucinations intensifying and the body count rising can the pair separate truth from illusion long enough to catch a monste. What you should know before reading1 Forgotten Bones is not your typical crime novel There is not a ton of crime solving leads or potential suspects instead it focuses on the daily lives of two MC s who somewhat haphazardly stumble onto Clues 2 The Book Does 2 The book does paranormal activity ghosts 3 I found the book to be rather slow for example Eric s introduction chapter spends pages and pages to say two things he has schizophrenia and his wife cheated on him4 The Police detective is not your typical do no wrong copper She is actually pretty inept For typical do no wrong copper She is actually pretty inept For after finding a child s body and learning important clues about the crime she goes on a 4 day vacation without reporting the informationWhy You May Like Forgotten Bones1 The book is fairly well written better then the majority I ve tried on First Reads 2 The two MCs are interesting and the characterization is on point3 The paranormal aspects add an interesting layer to a standard crime novelWhy You May Not Like Forgotten Bones1 As stated above the book is slow The main part of this is due to the focus on the characters life s instead of the crime2 Unlike alot of crime books there is #Minimal Actual Leadscrime Solving #actual leadscrime solving are also many points in the book where police characters make decisions that hurt the crime solving If this would make you frustrated you may avoid the book2 The plot felt rather contrived at times I m not reviewing this book because I couldn t bring myself to read than 30 pages What follows is ust me telling you why I so thoroughly rejected this one Be aware that what I m saying might be considered spoilers though all of this happens within the first pagesWe start off with a couple drivin.
